RCA Portable TV

This space-saving 9-inch TV/DVD combination unit plays all your favorite movies and your music, too, accommodating DVDs and both commercial and recordable CDs. Its dark-tint, high-contrast screen makes the set's DVD images even sharper and deeper.

Listen through built-in stereo speakers or hook it up with a larger entertainment system--the versatile 9V400TD lets you have it both ways, and it even comes with a 12-volt DC adapter for use with vehicle cigarette lighters.

The DVD player offers compatibility with recordable DVD+R and DVD+RW discs, 1.5x to 4x picture zoom, and scanning speeds from .125x to 15x. You can choose between a rear-panel coaxial AV input (for older VCRs or cable boxes) and a set of front AV inputs for convenience in hooking up camcorders, gaming consoles, and other devices.

The unit's digital-audio output plugs into a compatible audio/video surround receiver and multichannel speaker system for immersive, 5.1-channel Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound.

The 9V400TD also features a trilingual onscreen display (English, Spanish, French), V-Chip parental control, a sleep/power-on timer, and a remote control. A front-panel headphone minijack (.125-inch) lets you listen in private or late at night without disturbing others.

Auto time and date set through broadcast-born XDS data (at initial setup and after power interruptions) saves timing hassles, and a convenient power-on feature lets you use the set as an alarm clock.
