Lifetime Television
Lifetime Entertainment Services, led by President and CEO Carole Black
since March 1999, is dedicated to offering the highest quality
entertainment and information programming and advocating a wide
range of issues affecting women and their families.
The Golden Girls
Lifetime Television Entertainment Services operates three
woman-oriented cable-TV networks (Lifetime, Lifetime Movie Network,
Lifetime Real Women) offering original movies, talk shows, and
syndicated shows.
The Nanny
Its Lifetime channel reaches 87 million US
households and is one of the highest-rated cable networks in prime
time. The Lifetime Online unit offers information and entertainment
on the Web, and the firm also launched Lifetime magazine in 2003.
Lifetime was formed by the merger of channels Daytime and Cable
Health Network in 1984. It's jointly owned by Walt Disney (via ABC
Cable) and Hearst.
Lifetime is the
#1 basic cable network in primetime and the leader in women's
television. Lifetime serves over 85 million households nationwide,
and is available on more than 11,000 cable systems and alternative
delivery systems.
